Boro show potential interest in Charlie Wyke

Robson Kanu..... Jesus the actual Kanu would score more goals 😂

Jokes aside he scores about 5 goals a season at best. Troy Deaney is probably 5 years to late. He only scores pens and seems more happy being on Talksport and flirting with Laura Woods.

Haven’t seen the article but they are horrendous suggestions! Whoever has suggested that should never be allowed to write a football article again.
I think its because they are all frees and not because they are good lol

Gayle, Delaney would be far too expensive wages wise. Rhodes has done very little. The West Brom guy no thanks. Great list, Evening Gazette, take a bow!

I'd make a punt on Wyke even if he wasn't the first choice, it looks like Britt and Fletcher are off so we're lacking numbers in that position or soon will be.

I'd bring him in if he wanted to come back.

Even if he wasn't outright first choice, we need at least 2 strikers in the summer.
If he's good enough, he'll cement a place, if he isn't then he's a back up free transfer.

But I think there's sadly a very strong likelihood that Sunderland will be promoted automatically now, so I imagine he'd stay there if they guaranteed him games.

It’s not even the quality I’m surprised at, they’re just not suitable in any way.

The only one that’s in anyway suitable from a footballing perspective would be Deeney (in that he’s a target man) but the wages he’d want would be way over what we’d be willing to pay.

Gayle and Rhodes aren’t target men, and Gayle would also want too much money.

And as for HRK, the guy scored a good goal for Wales once. Other than that he’played 15 seasons, his best tally for a season is 10 goals, he’s scored 7 once, 6 once, 5 once, the other 11 seasons he’s scored 4 or less, and that’s in all competitions,

I still say to this day he should never have been appointed, hindsight is a great thing, but I didn't want him from the beginning
At the time there was a shortlist of 2 IIRC between Monk and Big Nige. What a monumental error that was, I wanted Big Nige in from day one and had that appointment been made I've no doubt he would have fared significantly better than Monk, and maybe we would have managed to escape the tragically boring Pulis years and the almost disastrous appointment of Woodgate.

Yes think you're right there weegord, as I say it's all in hindsight, but if Nigel Pearson was given the job I would most likely think he would have still been here to this day, unfortunately no Neil Warnock, but we'd have been in a better position financially, we'll never know though
