Boro's best every penalty taker?

Superb question, My heart says big John

My head though says Grant, although he missed at least 3.

David Armstrong was ok too, but I was never confident with a left footer..

I will stick with Grant

I’m too young to have seen him, but would go Hickton, just because of the way my dad recalls his penalties so romantically. Run ups from the half way line etc. Legends that make football great!
(Would go Grant out of those in my lifetime)

Bob Mortimer picked John Hickton when taking a penalty during Gone Fishing.

I'm not old enough to remember him, so pick Leadbitter.

While Big John would be your goto taker you could make a pretty formidable shoot-out lineup.

Grant to get you off to a perfect start
Mendy who had a great record
The Yak
Dean Glover
Big John

Hickton all day long. Started his run ups from the halfway line. Watch the you tube footage of us beating Sunderland 3-1 in the cup in 1975.

My grandad used to say Lindy Delapenha, and used to mention one that broke a hole in the net, that cleary went in the goal, in front of the holgate end, and the ref gave a goal kick.

Franck stepping up in the shoot-out at Spurs is an iconic Boro memory for me.
Anyone have a video link as I'm struggling to find one?

I remember it I was there. Was at work at 9am. Didn’t get back till about 5am. Great night like
