I was a Sparky at BSC. The day they moved me to the BOS for an O/T shift was the day I knew it was not for me anymore.
The sun was shining through holes in the roof and it looked like one of them snow balls. Slivers of steel floating in the air and no doubt into my lungs.

I had the first 10 years of my career at Steelmaking. Absolutely loved it there working with some great characters and a few loons.

Hope so..might go towards that multi million pound bail out that they have requested from the government. A threat that the Blast furnaces could be turned off in a matter of weeks

Looks like that's Concast still standing, don't think that would be part of this demolition as it is separate from the Bos.

Brings back memories of some of my time at British Steel, went to the BOS quite a bit. Also remember going down onto the Redcar site to monitor the demolition of the pellet plant (?) It was spectacular until we realised we were going to be engulfed in a wave of brown dust
