Bos Plant

I was a Sparky at BSC. The day they moved me to the BOS for an O/T shift was the day I knew it was not for me anymore.
The sun was shining through holes in the roof and it looked like one of them snow balls. Slivers of steel floating in the air and no doubt into my lungs.
I had the first 10 years of my career at Steelmaking. Absolutely loved it there working with some great characters and a few loons.

I wrote the software that controlled all of the converter additions, spent a year there commissioning it in the 80s. Hated every minute of it.

Brings back memories of some of my time at British Steel, went to the BOS quite a bit. Also remember going down onto the Redcar site to monitor the demolition of the pellet plant (?) It was spectacular until we realised we were going to be engulfed in a wave of brown dust 🙈😮😁
