Bring back Gestede

Not one boro fan thought he could cut it in the prem when we bought him and most didn’t want to have him in the champo (where we were certainly heading once we signed him)

Who ever was in charge of recruitment was the sort of kid at school who would pick the lad with the club foot first.
 
Its strange that him and Shotton don't have clubs and more so neither seem linked with anyone. I wonder if either are actively looking? Maybe taking a covid timeout.

You'd think champo clubs would be interested in both. Shotton could definitely still do a job (we could do with him as back up at RB and CB).

That said I wouldn't pay Rudy another penny. He's cost us best part of 10mil+.... Hands down and pound for pound one of our worst ever signings.

Warnock saw through that useless spud as soon as he saw him. An embarrassment to the shirt.
 
Nobody wants our outcasts.
Nobody made a move for any of our players in the summer.
(ok, some sort of vague bid for Fry by Blackburn).
Good job Dael played rubbish just before the window. Now he's back on top form (y)

Give one single reason why we thought he would help us stay in the prem? A 4yr contract and 6mil based on 2 prem goals for villa (one on the opening day)

Clubs do strange things😒

Wages were an issue, so it would have meant we would have had to pay a large portion of his wages.

tough call, I would have been tempted to pay a portion and use the rest to bring in someone decent.

Was he on nearly 30k a week? even half would have saved us a bunch and we could have brought in a free transfer on £10k a week who would have done the business for us. Shyte decision to bring him in the first place and worse still to keep him.
