Just seen ExeterBoro mention it on the what sport are you good at thread and believe it needs it's own thread.

Loved playing this at school, used to have the odd PE session where the teachers couldn't be bothered so we got told to play BB but the best games where on a lunchtime where we'd have 2 or 3 years all playing, can imagine the meltdown teachers would have today with 50 - 100 lads changing at each other :ROFLMAO: 70s & 80s were a great time to be a kid

We used to play murder ball during organised PE 😨

I enjoyed the winter version of BB in Hartburn school play ground in the late 70s… the tarmac always seemed to be frozen for days and we’d create a massive slide and charge at each other like our lives depended on it…
How did we survive youth?

Local lads in the 80s with very little to in winter in Brotton, no social media or other stuff like today, in summer we b***r off down the woods or to the sea in Saltburn or Skinni. But in winter out would come BB or fox hunt or some other activity that would veer over the red line of legality so while BB could lead to all kinds of injuries it kept us out of the hands of the local bobby.

I introduced my kids to it, they were completely obsessed with it, they taught all their mates and we'd have huge games of it in the park.
I probably looked a bit weird chasing after and grabbing random 9 year olds in hindsight.

"And that your honour, is the case for the defence".😱
