Bruno v Tyson documentary

Watched it last night. Really good.

Never knew about the abuse that sections of the black community gave Bruno (which deeply hurt him) as they accused him of being an Uncle Tom and a white sell out.

Also didn’t know they’d sparred each other a number of times as youngsters.

well worth a watch

I might give that a watch - always remember where I was for the big fights. I was at a house party in Normanby and we all stopped to watch the fight. Good old days!

Really looking forward to watching this - and I do remember the abuse FB got!

Racism isn't as clear cut as we think - Look at Calvin Robinson and what he is going through at the moment - for expressing opinions outside of the norm

I thought the whole thing was going to be Bruno and Tyson talking about their fights and history together. I was a bit disappointed that it was only a small bit at the end.

The BBC stitched Bruno up at the sports personality event. Made him out to look like a right mug! Mind you I find it hard to see why he would turn down Rocky III (the mr t character) when he was doing panto and noels house party.
Maybe it was the timing?

Loved frank bruno and was willing him to win the fights shown even though I knew the results. His best chance would have been at Wembley..

Yes I thought it would have more chat between the two of them. Think he was lucky to get out the second fight with his sight. Was reading interview with him in paper today and he said he only took the fight for the money but he really shouldn’t of and a doctor almost put a stop to it.

No, his glass jaw was the issue, compounded by his lack of movement at the very highest level. Hell of a punch but poor defence, sadly. As soon as he was caught, his hands would drop and he was then a sitting duck.

Mind, rather that than what happened to Ali, who really could take a punch. When everything else had gone, he stood and took everything thrown at him - and just look what that did to him.

Bruno could take a punch, a poor defence in later rounds is different to being chinny. How many punches from Tyson can a boxer with a glass jaw take before hitting the deck? Tyson has been knocked out.. are we saying he had a glass jaw aswell. Just tabloid bull imo
