Buying stuff that you never use

I surf so it’s for when there’s no waves and I can skate up and down Saltburn prom. I’m 52 so it might just gather dust!

Slightly different, it was bought for me...

By my mother, god love her, bought me a 'Top 50 Movies' poster that you scratch each one off as you watch them.

Not sure why.

I'm a 39 year old married man - I havent had posters on my bedroom wall for a good few decades, cant imagine the wife will be happy if I stick that up above the bed.

Its never been unwrapped - I mentally scratch the movies off as I go though.

Do you have a spare Capo by any chance? My 8 year old has started playing and we went into two shops this weekend who had no capos in stock. How the hell does a guitar shop not have capos?
I couldn't find the one I don't use any more. I have looked, sorry.

This is another symptom of buying things that you don't need. You can't find specific things...

A few years ago when feeling 'flush' purchased a £160 fancy coffee machine. Heated and frothed the milk etc.

I genuinely think I've used it about 10 times. The milk facility even less.

It basically sits in my kitchen as an expensive looking 'ornament' 😂

Guitar accessories. Lots of them. Its compulsive… I need help 🤣
As in keeping with the OP’s theme Hap, if you know of anyone who is just starting out and needs some equipment, I have the following going spare which I bought and have never got around to using:
Squire electric guitar.
Marshall house amp.
Carrying case, stand, loads of spare plectrums.
I would prefer to let them go as a package.

I have given two acoustics and a POD multi effects processor away, to youngsters, myself. Its a shame to see instruments unplayed.

Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah pedal. Bought it in the early nineties because everyone was using wah pedals, took it out of the box, messed around with it for about half an hour, realised that I had no use for it, put it back in the box, gave it away to a friend a year or so later.

Just found an unopened 5 litre bottle of engine oil bought about 10 years ago for a car which I sold ages ago

Never gonna use it
Same here. Could not get the sump plug out of the missus Mini.

Selling the car was the logical outcome.

Also bought an expensive juicer. Who needs the fibre anyway?

Ebay thinks I need one of these. They're spot on, I don't like kebabs so thus would be perfect.

I had a bout of guitaritis the past few years, one way to arrest it, buy a kit guitar and pledge to yourself, no more until this is completed. I managed to do this, then I went and bought an electric keyboard.

I spent a fortune buying and modifying a fender squire 51. A strat, P bass, crossover. Supposedly a really underrated guitar.
Pro set up, US Tex Mex pick ups, coil tap, bespoke scratch guard and paint work…

It still plays out of time? What the actual flip? Surely Fender are culpable?

My wife has a compulsion for buying stuff to put in the house i dont mind but whats irritating is when i ask where the item is going shes bought the item without a place for it in mind.
Ditto glover. My wife likes buying tat from charity shops, keep em for a month then return them.

At least she isn't wasting a lot of money.

For me it's playing cards. I have about 500 decks.

Christmas present from last year include
Bob's book which I haven't opened yet and a Borough Market cookbook - again not opened. Great presents but sadly I don't read books and don't cook very well.
