Crews are assessing California's Highway 1 near Big Sur where a portion of the roadway has been washed out by a winter storm.

Jeez. A couple of years ago I ticked "cruise the Pacific coast highway in a convertible sports car" off my bucket list. It is (was) and amazing road

That area around Big Sur is constantly under repair / in danger of collapse.

Yeah it seems an annual occurance.

We visited California 2 years ago. The initial plan was to drive down the coats from San Francisco to LA but ended up changing it to the i85? to fit in visiting extra places including Yosemite and attend a NFL game - so I would really love to go back and do it. My favourite part of the world.
