Ok not the first country you think of when think would cup countries but look a little deeper and you’ll see their qualification was no fluke. Given they finished top of the concacaf region ahead of both Mexico and the USA.

Yes he’s the difference maker ravs, but as i say not the toughest group either yes Belgium but Croatia aren’t what they were.
 
Watched an interview with their coach, John Herdman, the other day. I hadn't known too much about him at all, (North East lad!) but he spoke so well. Looks like he's done wonders for Canadian football, both mens and womens. Hope they do well at the World Cup. There will surely be 'bigger' jobs out there for him off the back of his work there, whenever he fancies a change.

Yes he’s a good lad is John Herdman! He and Bev Priestman, the head coach of Canada’s Womens Team, both just happen to hail from Consett, County Durham👍
 
The growth and now depth in the Canada Men’s team over the past 10 years has been exceptional. The same phenomena has also been experienced in basketball with a large number of Canadian players arriving and performing really well in the NBA.
 
I watched them throughout their qualification and at times they played both Mexico and the US off the park. However it’s fair to say that both Mexico and the US are nowhere near as good as previous campaigns especially Mexico, so don’t put any money on them. Canada maybe flatter to deceive although they have a Mackem as coach.
 
Watched the match earlier on Bein sport. A bit meh but Canada deserved it even though the winner was a 95th minute penalty.
 
Sure I read they are the only team at the tournament (or maybes Nike sponsored teams) not to have a new shirt produced. Not happy about it apparently.
