Went to Kwik-fit today as my exhaust is blowin the last couple of days. Not had to fix an exhaust for donkeys
Up on the ramp I was allowed to see what was going on , the rear silencer box has come detached corroded from the middle pipe, however the connector is really done too so it would need the next bit replaced as well. So that's the rear silencer and the middle silencer both come with the pipes and he is asking 361 notes. Was shocked so I asked how much of that is parts and he said well quite a lot,, its simple bolts to reach so job should not take more than 90mins. I had to book it in for Wed
Got home and looked up the parts for my Nissan Note 1.6 and its quite easy to locate but one is 90 and the other 65 ? Eh ? So now looks like 210 just for 90 mins work ? Perplexed. Will ring my normal garage tomorrow but they never have availability fo the week you ring.
Does this sound like they are lumping it on and having my eyes out ?

All the more reason to invest in a Haynes manual and learn how to use the spanners. However, if you ever find a reasonable mechanic, treat them with live and care and cherish their work.

Somebody on here suggested finding the parts at euro parts and apparently they can provide a cost for local garages to fit the parts on the website. Give that a bash.

Kwikfit rarely offer good value

Google fmttm brakes and look at my thread, load of garages selected.

I'll use Kwikfit sometimes for a quick diagnosis but I take that with a pinch of salt as well
