Car Insurance?

Any tips on good insurers that don't have your eyes out? I just got my renewal quote from Aviva, and for whatever reason the deem fit, they've increased it by £150 this year. I'll be shopping around, but any tips welcome.
Thanks

Don’t pay for it anymore as have company cars but when I did we had a multi policy with Admiral and they were never beaten for 10 years
The last few years we have gone through Confused.com. Always come up with a good deal + you get 10 free foam car washes at Coulby each.

Just done Confused and it came out only £50 less than my renewal quote from Aviva, with a company I've never heard of, with a much larger excess than I have now. Might as well stay put.

My wife pays a £900/year. We don't have a flash car (though it isn't old) and don't live in a super exclusive fancy area. I tried to get it down but it wouldn't budge. It has never been below £650 in the past. She's had no recent accidents either.

Almost everyone so know has had a significant increase this year. Aviva were the cheapest for me a few months ago.

If you are looking to change insurers you should do it about 4 weeks before renewal. Your premium changes based on renewal date. In the last week it climbs very steeply.

Depending on when you need to renew, if it's not for a couple of months leave it another few weeks and check on comparison sites again.

Car insurance is going up for everyone this year. This is the first year I've ever renewed with a company (usually jump around for the best deal). However, my renewal (which was £90 higher than last year), was comfortably cheaper than anywhere else would offer as a new customer

Yeah, I'm about a month away from renewal at this point. Renewal is 13th March

Mine was £395 last year, renewal price is £566  I'm not doing to bad really compared to this! 2016 2.0tdi Kuga

My renewal was 970 up from 575! So I went straight to money supermarket and got it with Aviva for 560. That'll do.

Current insurer declined to offer cover at renewal, so had to go elsewhere.

Mines gone up massively, over £1k was cheapest I could find 😕

I sorted out some joint ins for a elderly neighbour and his wife last month. It was half his renewal. The site went down for a few minutes when I did it again iwas a further £30 cheaper!
( LV btw)
