Car issues - Central locking and Tyre Monitor System

........................................There’s also another type of system which doesn’t have tyre sensors but is monitored by the ABS apparently; if it detects a wheel slowing down due to the tyre going flat, it pops the light on. i know it’s fitted to the latest Skoda as my boss was telling me, seems a better idea.
The wheel speeds up as the tyre goes flat because the effective diameter becomes smaller. It's on Mrs Chickenrunner's car and works well. If you get tyres replaced it needs a reset (pretty simple) because, as you say, it is simply looking for speed differences between wheels from when it was last reset/calibrated.
