Care homes

We discharged known, suspected and unknown cases into care homes which were unprepared with no formal warning that the patients were infected, no testing available, and no PPE to prevent transmission. We actively seeded this into the very population that was most vulnerable.

Wow, if this is true heads should roll and be in prison.

A absolute national and political disgrace, time for the people to stand up and say enough is enough of this incompetent/lying/pathetic government, who it appears have enabled/encouraged this to happen and thought they would get away with it.

All these people (someone's family member) who were I'll or needed care and needed to be protected above all others have in my view been either been killed needlessly or conciosusly by this government. This is Britain, are we the people just going to accept this and all the rest of the shambles that is taking place and the path we are being lead down? I fully admit I am not a Tory supporter, never have been and never will be and was all for keeping things quiet untill we can get out of this mess. However this and witnessing the the rest of the mess taking place I can't hold back my anger any longer.

People put faith in their Government allow them to run country with our consent. The vast majority of people will accept and go along with their advice because they are the government but I feel we are very close to breaking point in terms of having faith, that this government is doing right by its people and is competent to govern. I would urge all fair minded decent people of this country to begin the chorus of enough is enough and perhaps it's time to withdraw our consent to be governed by this current shambolic conservative government.

They have been shown they are not fit to be given the honour and privilege of leading this country, there maybe a group of Tories amongst the current MP's who are I don't know, but Johnson their leader, his hand picked cabinet and selected advisors are not, time to go and quickly. Apologies for the rant but getting angrier, frustrated and shameful of our country by the day.

They weren't testing them so didn't know. About two weeks back they said all transferees would in future be tested.
But the post at the top says 'known' cases. Not defending the government but surely the doctor has the final say on discharge?

It’s also a damning indictment on the fact we have no social care protection in this country to fill the void.

it’s truly shocking how carehomes were treated as a back stop.

Yes, missed that. Any links by anyone to that?

A Guardian report on 13 March where care homes stopping visitors before government advice telling them to. How things have moved on? The last paragraph:
“There’s going to be a point, assuming the epidemic flows and grows as it will do, where you want to cocoon to protect those at-risk groups so they don’t catch the disease,” he said.

“By the time they come out of their cocooning, herd immunity has been achieved in the rest of the population.”

Herd immunity!!!

I said the other week Starmer at his first PMQ's with Raab he was keeping his big guns withdrawn. Now Boris is back in the room he's bringing them out and it's only going to get more awkward for Boris at every appearance.
I'm looking forward to when Boris has his cronies behind him to see how he attempts to bat Starmer's bullets away, and the care home fiasco is the battleground.

This is exactly why Moog has called for parliament to be fully opened so BJ can surround himself with cronies for comfort and protection - can’t see it happening any time soon 😁

Corocu, a good & passionate post, please don't apologise, you very rarely post any political posts on here & generally come across as a mild mannered poster
