Calzaghe points win , doubt he would have hurt Froch as he was one hard b****d.
Ask Roy Jones Jnr if those little taps in the face hurt. About 800 of them over the course of a fight might sting a bit, even if you're a hard so and so.

Im talking hurt as in the first Groves fight, not a chance of Calzaghe doing that ,and lets not forget Calzaghe's hands were shot to pieces to the point he had to have injections in them before every fight.Ask Roy Jones Jnr if those little taps in the face hurt. Yeah, comfortably too. Calzaghe actively avoided the great fighters of his era.Better resume?
Context is important. One of those was his debut fight, the second was Roy Jones Jr 15 years earlier. The other two were close points losses against a very game Jermaine Taylor at Middleweight. The fact he was fighting at light heavyweight immediately afterwards and for the rest of his career suggests he was really struggling to make weight for those fights.Hopkins was 43 and had 4 losses to his name when he fought Calzaghe
OK you don't really understand boxing. That's fine.Yeah, comfortably too. Calzaghe actively avoided the great fighters of his era.
"I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels I wouldn't want to risk it."OK you don't really understand boxing. That's fine.
Me? Why would I have wanted him to lose? I stayed up until daft o'clock in the morning hoping he beat Hopkins and Jones but I call it as it is and his resume is average for the level of fighter he was. Head to head I'd pick him over a lot of fighters because he was fantastic.Fight was more for jones benefit at the time , know your weight limits & go with it , think you would of loved JC to be beaten ......but no one done it , or really got close ....watched him at Marton country club as a early pro , was exceptional even then....had a bet at work for a tenner he would be a W champ in time
He literally box the head off anyone who stepped in the ring. Carl froch had closer more exciting fights but the resume is no better in my opinion."I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels I wouldn't want to risk it."
I guess Calzaghe doesn't either then. That's fine.
Then years later said Jones was past his best and a fight with him would be pointless but fought him anyway.
What would have the result been if they had fought?
I reckon Froch may have knocked Calzaghe down before Calzaghe ground out the win.
