It won’t make any difference to what happens on the pitch. I said on Saturday that in my 60 years if supporting the Boro I’ve seen many a relegated team. They all have similar characteristics. This team has them.
 
If he comes he will need his own lieutenants. He will be more than aware of that. There is absolutely no way he comes to work with Leo, Tinkler et al if he is going to make a difference. For me, the way Leo has been talking he is too close to the players and seems more than willing to offer excuses for them. We need a group of coaches that is willing to change things mentally with the players to ensure they have a determined winning mentality. Carrick had that as a player and I am sure he will soon recognise the weak underbelly in most of our players psyche. He wont want people that will undermine that mentality shift And I would expect Leo to be marginalised again. I dont think Edwards will command the players respect enough to do what is necessary on that score.
 
Side note, but a language teacher mate of mine once pointed out that Rene Meulensteen is the most fluent person he’s ever heard speak a second language, and now I can’t unhear it.
 
They will expect wages which represent their experience in the game, of which is on another level from the likes of Alan Knill, Kevin Blackwell, Robbie Keane, Dave Kemp, James Beattie, etc.

Compensation will appropriate to the level we are at. It’s not going to be Man Utd money but if we’re going for them it would have to make sense for all parties.
