Championship Play-Off Final

It alternates. Every other year its a Saturday. So basically Euro / World Cup years as mentioned earlier - it's a Saturday to give international players involved a chance to leave sooner and join up with international squads. Other years it's the Monday.

Wasn't there some debate a few years ago around the pitch being chewed up after 3 days of use so 'the richest game in football' (sky not me) should be on the fresh pitch eg Saturday?

It's because Sheffield United have made the semi of the FA cup (and potentially could make the final) and if they also get to the play off final this gives them a full week in between the games.

I posted this on March 6th after seeing comms between the EFL and Boro from back then. Sheff Utd weren’t in the FA Cup semi final then.

One of either Sheffield United or Blackburn were definitely getting to the semi by then though. And both could also potentially be involved in the play of final.

Yep, could have been in their thought process. Sheff Utd beat Spurs on March 1st.. I was told on March 6th so that could have been part of it.
