Chelsea Away Ticket Info 🎟️

ÂŁ38 is cheap for Chelsea. They charged us ÂŁ50 under Southgate (I was fuming when he left our best players on the bench). Over actually I think. I made a rule of never spending over ÂŁ50 on a football match after that as I was spending money I couldn't afford on watching the Boro.

Unlike most other things football hasn't massively increased its prices in the last few years. Not at championship level certainly.

Considering how much food, gig prices, utilities and most of all rent have gone up.

To be fair I don't think the price is that bad for a semi final. I was expecting higher.

I thought our home tickets would be higher as well. Surprised they are cheaper than our walk up league matches.

At the very least, given that for most of us this game could well involve a three figure sum for travel, a three figure sum for an overnight stay, and time off work, I am not sure that the extra ÂŁ8 over the Premier League limit is going to be the clinching factor.
So we’re people live should dictate the price? Nobody is forced to go to a football match

So travel staying over, spend on food a drink shouldn’t come into a club thinking when charging a price

End of the day following a football club is a hobby

I agree it’s a disgusting price but when you’re travelling to an away game quite often the match ticket is the lesser part of the bill.
I’ve already booked trains at £75 return and hotel near King’s Cross at £50 and add to that two days lost pay as I’m self employed so the £18 difference between home and away legs pails in to insignificance in the over all cost. You can add food and drinks in the equation too. £18 is three pints of beer down there. If you really want to be there the match ticket price isn’t going to put you off is it?

I think you have misread my meaning, which is essentially that of the later post from @Train Man

I don’t see why Chelsea should subsidise me just because I have a long trip down and have to take time off. It is indeed a hobby. And for away matches an expensive one in which the ticket price plays a small part. I'll be there and the difference between £30 and £38 will be the least of my concerns.

I honestly think I've lived in London too long. When I heard the price I didn't think twice that it was too much. I'm vainly hoping they go on general!

@fmttmadmin at the next supporters meeting can you ask the club why they think it’s acceptable to charge their own non season ticket holder supporters more for a ticket in their own ground than that which they’re charging Chelsea fans.
We’ve done the season ticket holder cup ticket discount thing to death haven’t we? People have entrenched views both ways. But the club does it and it ain’t going to stop any time soon I suspect.

Plenty were practically in ecstasy to have the opportunity to fork out well over forty quid to go to Manyoo a couple of years back.
Getting to and from Manchester is a bit easier than getting home from West London which may account for the absence of ecstacy.

Do you think it’s right that some Boro fans are charged more than Chelsea fans to watch their team in their own stadium?

I don’t feel particularly strongly personally about the season ticket holder discount. It’s not an issue of right or wrong though, it’s an issue of what works for the club commercially. But I can see a degree of logic to giving a reward to the more committed fans over the occasional ones. Once they do that, this is an inevitable consequential effect of the FA rules.

It’s also true that because of the way we price the stands differently for league games, there will always be home fans who have paid more than the visitors every week. Again, it’s not a moral issue. Just a commercial one.

Will easily make general sale, I don’t think we will sell out.
Interesting point of view. I think we’ll sell out easily. When have not sold out an away match for such a big game? There’s easily 1500 boro fans based in London too who will be asking pals with season tickets to buy on their behalf.

You could double as a politician the way you avoided my question and answered your own.

Because it’s an idiotic way to phrase the question. But if you want to straight answer to the question anyway, is it right? Yes. I have absolutely no problem with it. It’s a perfectly reasonable way to price the tickets. I would have absolutely no problem with doing it the other way either.

Of course you wouldn’t because you’re being contrary and looking for a reaction from the people that it affects. It’s clearly not idiotic because as highlighted there’s many people that feel put out by it.
