Currently 1 1. However Brighton are well on top. 70% possession 22 shots Vs Chelsea's 3.

Chelsea net spend £480 million.
Brighton net spend minus £73 million.

2. Chelsea – £169,720,000 wages.
18. Brighton – £28,340,000

Chelsea just nicked Brighton's manager

And as I type Brighton take the lead.

Has there ever been a bigger indication of how important it is to have a well run club with a coherent transfer strategy.

It is very satisfying that Chelsea basically gutted Brighton only for Brighton to get even better while Chelsea have plummeted. Used to hate Brighton for some reason when they were in the Championship with us, just find them very likeable now.

Chelsea have gone backwards under lampard

He underachieved at Derby and Chelsea (first stint).

At Everton he was dreadful but somehow they found something to keep themselves up at the last moment last season.

I see nothing in his record to suggest he should keep being given these opportunities or that he will succeed when people still choose to offer them to him.

Couldn’t agree more

Chelsea’s current transfer policy reminds me a little of ours under monk… buy anything you can get ya hands on without any real plan and just hope it works

Cos he gets a good recommendation of his uncle Arry

They have further refined it to include "never buy a competent striker when you can buy another creative midfielder"

Fans are turning on the owner. It's the only reason they brought Lampard back in for some goodwill from the supporters. Hasn't worked and definitely looking like no European qualification for Chelsea this season is which will scupper their summer transfer plans.

Also as Muttley says, no recognised top class striker. Havertz isn't the answer, he's a phenomenal player when he plays behind the strikers not as THE striker.

Just no spirit in that team, just a bunch of individuals. Whoever takes over in the summer will have to address that as their first task.

It’s mental looking at Chelsea. A squad of top quality players yet they’re performing terrible. It’s hard to have any sympathy of course.

Compare to Brentford who have assembled a PL quality squad, competing top half, who have a definitive transfer policy/system. On a fraction of Chelsea's budget.

But Chelsea continue to spaff enormous sums on bang average PL players, but because they pay ridiculous sums this is supposed to make them contenders again🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
