Clarke’s injury

Any word on Clarke?

In theory we’ve got 4 good central defenders with him if fit 5 counting Paddy. Djksteel does ok there as well so it’s a position we’re well covered for - probably means someone could leave and we’d be better off investing the funds in other positions.

However if Clarke is never coming back can we afford to let anyone leave?

He has been out with a back injury for 10 month, I hope I'm wrong but it really doesn't look very promising for the poor bloke. I have had back problems since my mid 20s. I initially injured it at work but after MRI scans it was found I had deformed vertebrae(which where probably always like it) which caused me to develop arthritis in my back and the injury at work was my back pretty much finally admitting defeat. I'm 39 next month and I have ok times but also flare ups and I'm not a professional athlete who needs to be in peak physical condition. I hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't wish long-term back problems on my worst enemy(ok that was an exaggeration I would maybe wish it on a few of my enemies, but not all of them 🤣).

He was pictured in training last week
Not quite ‘in Traing’ he wasn’t training with the other squad players. He was on the grass with what appeared to be Engel doing light fitness work.

I guess that’s a huge step forward from being in pain daily though. So hopefully on the mend but I doubt we will see him this side of Christmas

He’s been running on the grass by himself since the last few months of the season just gone. He’s either not showing signs of improvement or the fittest man at the club.

I hope he does recover soon, but a decision will soon have to be made to include him in the squad for this season - its pointless including him if he's a long time away from recovery, hes just taking up a space that we could use for say a loan player.

I have arthritis of the spine and was referred to a rheumatologist where I was told to take ibuprofen daily to keep inflammation levels down. I didn't want to do this, so after extensive research I decided to give up gluten. After around six months I had gone from struggling to put my socks on to my back pain disappearing.

I would strongly advise you try this.

And your doctor should be struck off for advising you to take brufen everyday. It's not paracetamol.
