coburn

I doubt there's a stronger forward in the league than Coburn, he just muscles players out of his way

lacks a bit of experience ,which will come in time ,but hes learning on the job and doing really well

After the Stoke game some of the experts were suggesting it was time to rest him and give Latte Lath a go. Personally I thought him and Crooksy were the only bright sparks of that game.
Pleased for the lad he has proved them wrong.

Agree he was unlucky not to score in that game

Thought yesterday was possibly his best game in a Boro shirt. And I am his biggest critic as I don't think he is good enough but I will be happily proved wrong.
I agree he had a good game. I also agree that, at the moment, he isn't good enough.

Very strong and holds the ball up well. Won't score enough. Lath offers something very different and I think they will be selected based on the opposition.

For me lath will get more chances and score more goals but won't offer the same as coburn in holding the ball up and bringing others in to the game.

I felt the Plymouth defenders were glad to see the back of him yesterday. He gave them a torrid time throughout the game and should have received more protection from the referee. His hold up play with his back to the goal is very good and is able to bring others into the game. I don't think we get that from Latte Lath.

I think tactically Coburn has changed the way we play. Since he came in to the side we've lost 1 in 11, a lot of that is down to fact that we're now much less predictable because we can be more direct if we need to be, especially when Dieng has the ball.

Exactly, he enables the way we play, he’s been key to why we have won games recently. What he’s been asked to do will mean he won’t get as many in goals scored column, and it would be prettt basic to judge him on that alone

He's quicker than he looks too! He tires defenders because he's mobile as well as strong, he chases defenders down, runs channels when asked to and is strong as an ox when it comes to the physical stuff. Ideally I think Latte Lath playing off Coburn as a 10 would be optimal but it'd be unfair for Crooks to lose out at the minute. It's a nice problem for Carrick to have really.

Would rather it be the other way round with Lathe up top using his pace and Coburn playing the number 10 role ala Chuba. Josh would be deeper so can hold the ball up in midfield and Lathe, the wide men and midfield could run off his flicks etc. He would then get more space when he arrives in the box late for crosses to score goals himself.

So you want your target man coburn as number 10 and your second striker lathe as a target man🙄

He needs someone running off him, so that when he's won & layed the ball off someone has gone in behind to stretch the play.
