Cold fish

My father in law goes to Parly road and gets me a cold fish now and then.
Is anybody on here familiar with this?

Basically a fried fish in batter but cold.

Weird but strangely.... Nice
To reheat or to have cold😕😕 Saying that have you tried reheated Chips from the freezer, full whack on the oven, takes about five minutes.

Used to have them occasionally at our Grandads, had them cold. I think that wet fish shop is the closest one to me now. Used to use Peter Griffin's in Eston.

Thought this was going to be a thread about that Sion Sono film. I'm disappointed now.

So am I, had a dodgy stomach since Monday, just hope I'm okay for the match on Saturday. Definitely won't be having a cold fish before then.
I wouldn't recommend watching that film that I mentioned upthread right now if your stomach is feeling a bit dodgy. It's really gruesome. Decent film though but not one of his best,.

So basically if I go to the chippy, buy cod in batter, then let it go cold before I eat it that’s it??

Haha yes I do. When I lived with our Mam and Dad mine used to be Foo yung with chips and curry microwaved for Brekky. No wonder our Dad couldn't wait for me to move out. Mind you all this food talk is churning my stomach now, just off upstairs for a short while.

oh yeah!! Special Egg foo yung and chips the next morning - makes me feel like taking up drinking again!!

I don't think it's just a normal battered fish gone cold...... Not sure if it's prepared / treated differently.

I think it's a bit of a dying tradition but my father in law is very fond of them and says his awld fella used to have them 3 or 4 times a week back in the day.

I thought the thread title was in relation to goldfish etc (see tropical fish thread).
That, or someone resisting advances from the oppo sex.😁

My dad used to eat cold fish. I thought it tasted nice. He also ate tripe in vinegar, brawn, cowheels and pigs trotters.
Stuff you don't see very much of today, although I have seen pigs trotters in Morrisons and tripe in one of the butchers in Stockton.
