Cold/Flu - Best Remedies

After avoiding it for the past month with everybody at work having a dose of it and everyone at home succumbing to it at some point it's hit me today on my last day off before I'm back to work.
Went to the chemists for some lemsip to be met with a barrage of stupid questions.
"Do you know this has paracetamol in it?"
"Yes it's why I want to buy it"
"Have you took a COVID test?"
"No"
"We don't have any in stock at the moment for you to purchase"
"Great, thanks, I don't need one"
"That'll be five quid please"
"Thanks".

My concoction is tried and tested on both viral and bacterial infections.

fresh garlic, ginger, a red chilli, oregano, turmeric, honey, apple cider vinegar blitzed together then made into a smoothie with pineapple juice. All ingredients have antimicrobial and antibiotic properties.

I'm not sure they were being stupid. Lots of people don't know what's in lemsip and lots of people can't take particular treatments for various reasons.
There is plenty of covid around at the moment, my whole office is out with it just about

On another note does lemsip actually help (the decongestant) or is it just a more enjoyable way of consuming paracetamol? I never bother with it but might give it a whirl when the inevitable happens and I catch a cold going into christmas like every year

I definitely think it has a placebo effect on me which is why I don't begrudge paying for it. My only symptoms at the moment are a mild headache and generally feeling a bit run down. Thought I'd give it a blast before the symptoms really took a hold of me to see if it makes a difference. I don't think I'm properly poorly as smoking still tastes the same. It's rotten for me when I'm ill.

I’ve had the flu jab and still bad with it, night sweats last night too, just can’t seem to get any decent sleep despite the Fitbit telling me I’ve had 8 hours. Horsing ibuprofen every 6 hours tends to keep it sort of at bay but one breath of freezing cold air has me off in a coughing fit.

Mine is still going strong, although the symptons are down to an annoying chesty cough and it still hurts to talk. Ears are still slightly blocked which is annoying the wife as I have to have everything turned slightly up so I can actually hear it.

Hoping it clears up completely by Wednesday as I need to leave the house to do a few last minute Christmas jobs...

Just add Chicken, Onions and some Garam Masala and you have yourself a decent curry.

I also add lemon, cinnamon and a green teabag. Finish it off with extra virgin olive oil as the fat content in it helps to absorb all the ingredients into your body.

Feeling rough with the usual pre xmas fluey crap, bad nights sleep, monster headache etc, so I am having a chicken vindaloo from Heron with triple cooked chips, might do the trick

My trusted method is paracetamol and a trip to the gym to use the sauna to sweat it out but it can be a monumental effort to summon the energy to leave the house sometimes.

Mines ended up being covid in the end. No wonder the trusty lemsips didnt work. First time Ive had it and feeling pretty grim still.

Night Nurse basically zonks you out, and you get a good sleep! In the day-time I find Beechams powders is effective at holding the cold symptoms at bay.
Another vote for Beechams Powders me, I swear by them but each to their own, sorted me out in a couple of days 👍
