Cole Palmer or Phil Foden?

Palmer's now joint top scorer in the league, scoring 4, this one from the spot.

His team mates are very upset that he took the penalty when he's already got a hat trick, Nicholas Jackson proper lost his head.

I'd start with a front 3 of Saka RW Foden CAM Palmer LW, but let them have a bit of creative freedom to swap positions.
I'd then play Bellingham as an 8 in CM, alongside Rice.
Whilst I'm here I'd go with Mitchell from Palace at LB if Shaw isn't fit.
If I were Southgate I'd be tempted to try that in the final two friendlies before the finals. I could be wrong but didn't Bellingham used to play in a 2 when he was at Dortmund? I know he plays as a 10 now but he's also been very effective playing as a box-to-box midfielder in the past.

I agree as well regarding Mitchell, he should be making the squad at least if Shaw isn't fit.

Not to take away from the great season he’s having but 9 of those 20 goals are penalties. Foden has scored four more than Palmer from open play.

Yeah, I wasn't making a comment on the debate with that, I still think Foden is the better player.

I just thought it was interesting that Palmer's now the top scorer in the league.

If Ollie Watkins took penalties, it'd be him.

I'd try

............. Kane.............
.... Foden..............Palmer..
............Bellingham.........
....................Rice.............
Shaw..... ..................Walker
Gomes..Stones..Mcguire

..................Pickford..........

That team should win a World Cup, never mind the Euros. Southgate will probably pick Rashford and Henderson though.
Which totally ignores the fact there are others teams. France, Spain, Germany, Portugal all with good teams capable of beating whichever team England put out.

If only football was played on paper, football manager, FIFA or the imagination.

It’s all about the way we should play, Gareth needs to let the handbrake off, we go out and attack teams from minute one, we make these other teams fearful and think more about keeping us out than scoring against us, imagine your a defender knowing your going to face 90 minutes of Kane, Bellingham, Foden and Saka in full attack mode.

It’s all about the management, but don’t think he will change the ethos, and will probably start with Henderson and Phillips 😲 even though we have the players capable of winning the Euros and next World Cup.

You have foden, Bellingham and palmer who are all preferred at number 10.

Foden has played a lot out wide so that’ll work. I don’t think you need to fit innpalmer as well

We don’t want to do what we did with cm in the past

Good depth though

Works both ways though doesn't it. Imagine Mbappe, Dembele, Griezeman et al running the other way. I think we shouldn't die wondering but there is a balance to be had against the very best sides.
