And…….overturning the ban on fur farming and the transport of live animals……WTF?” Evil is a strong word but you can certainly imagine Truss and Kwarteng pulling the legs off spiders!
Why do we need more houses when the youngsters can’t afford the ones we have now?Well we desperately need more land for housing. We also have some of the most onerous planning systems in the world, so something has got to give.

Supply and demand - that's why house prices are so highWhy do we need more houses when the youngsters can’t afford the ones we have now?
What we need is Council Houses as they were originally intended.
On Any Answers yesterday, I heard someone complaining that the rise in interest rates was going to cripple his buy-to-let mortgages.....Supply and demand - that's why house prices are so high
There is no problem with land availability and planning permission. The major builders have almost half a million plots available in their land banks which they are not currently using. This is a deliberate policy by builders to keep housing prices high. Sunak had promised to address this but I would presume that's out of the window nowWell we desperately need more land for housing. Alternatively the reason could be letting people self certify on mortgages they can’t really afford and failing that let them take out mortgages for 30+ years. It will become like Japan soon where you can leave your kids the house and the mortgage.Supply and demand - that's why house prices are so high
