Connolly and Balogun

The elephant in the room with Boro at the moment is the fact that Wilder has clearly made promises to the parent clubs of Connolly and Balogun. When 30,000 people all see the same thing, it's not tenaable to maintain that the professionals know best. They simply don't merit their place. Moreover, if we persist with them we won't go up.

Balogun has 2 goals and 2 assists in 12 games. He's barely kicked a ball in the professional game, he's getting better by the game and there aren't many championship strikers that wouldn't be completely nullified by Silva and Rudiger.
Connolly is showing signs of improvement to, he hasn't really kicked a ball for a year before coming here.
Give them a break, they're doing okay and doing their bit in our promotion push

thought he ran his socks off to be honest, and as you say we were up against a very very good team,no one in our side let themselves down thats for sure,

If either of them score the winner at Wembley in the play off final then all will be forgotten. Still plenty of drama left this season.

They try, they move well, but lack the precision thinking in the box. Too many ballooned shots and finding themselves at the wrong angle too often. That is completely ignoring yesterday: it would be unfair to criticise them against a team who Tuchel has moulded into a football machine.

I won't demand Mitrovic level returns on our budget, but I think that we would be wasting our cash on either of the three loaned strikers. We may as well gamble on three more loanees, because the worst outcome is that they also score such low figures.

Over the years we have seen so many strikers who the fans like and genuinely want to succeed, but the goals and assists simply don't justify the investment. We're not lumping in slow, high balls to Kike anymore; we have a few midfielders who drive forward, play through defenders and open up chances... Which just go begging.
