Could Ipswich win the championship

They could but they wont. Its between Leicester and Leeds for me on the basis that they they are better teams.

Hope not.

Much rather Leicester, Leeds & Saints go up, so the league is much much weaker (back to where it roughly was in 2022/23), so we have a slightly better chance of pinching a place in the top 6.

The 3 coming down aren't anywhere near as good and powerful as the 3 that came down last season.

Aren't Ipswich one of the few teams to get promoted to the top division and then win it in their first season?
Of course, I could google it myself......

They certainly can .. but, from purely a Boro perspective, I hope they don't. We want all of last years relegated teams out of the Champo next season. As good as Ipswich have been - a big reason they are as good as they are is because of McKenna .. and they might not be able to hold on to him if they don't go up and so maybe next year will be weaker for it.

Leicester are not in the best of form in the league, one win in 5 and could be pinched at the post for that 1st/2nd spot, unfortunately as much as I can't stand Leeds Utd they will be in the top two, then it's either Ipswich, Southampton or Leicester but one of the relegated teams from last season will miss out on promotion I reckon.

Agree. McKenna Manager of the Season so far.

They could, I don't think they will though.

Would love them to go up automatically though, it'd be a great story.

I hope they make it, always had a bit of a soft spot for them from having that great team in the mid/late 70s when they were punching for an average sized club.

Just looked at the fixtures, none of the top 3 play each other, I'd say Ipswich might have slightly harder fixtures but not a lot in in

They have scored 80 goals this season and are sitting on 81 points, the only thing I think may let them down is the goals conceded column, they have let in 49 which is only three less than us, this is what may cost them.

I don't particularly care who goes up, I only care about Boro. Buggar all this talk of being pleased for them (yes I'm a bitter sod I know🤣).

I guess tactically you'd have to say the best outcome for us would be for Southampton, Leicester and Leeds to go up, as they would all still be strong next season in the Championship. I feel Ipswich have benefited from a promotion bounce and might even struggle next season if they don't go up.

I think any of the 3 relegated teams from last season will need to cut their spending / squad significantly if they don't make it this year so not sure it will make a lot of difference

They will still be stonger given the PPs. Absolutely wish for the three relegated clubs from last season to go back up from a Boro point of view.

Leeds are going to win it with Ipswich 2nd I think. Play offs are anyone's guess. Leicester are going to get points deductions next season no matter what league they are in so their squad is going to be much much weaker than this season. Next season should be an other really exciting one in the championship.

I think Ipswich will just miss out.

International break will give Leicester time to reset and Ipswich have the trickier fixtures to my eye.

But then again, I thought they'd fall away after Christmas and Boro to be in play off contention, so what do I know!

Leeds will win, I think 2nd place will go to the last day.

If Ipswich finish 3rd, they'll win play-offs, if Leicester do, they will bottle it in the semi-finals.

Leicester and Leeds for me with Southampton through the play offs. The better squads count at the business end. Ipswich have had a good season though, they are this years Luton.
