For anyone going by train tomorrow: all the rail replacement buses before and after the match have now been cancelled. The last one arrives at the stadium at 0930, and nothing leaves until 1712.

Are you talking about the Coventry - Bedworth - Nuneaton line?
There are fans coaches from just down from Coventry Railway station - they cost about £3 and take you to the edge of that shopping centre next the ground.
There are service-buses which serve the Shopping Centre from Pool Meadow Bus Station. [Service No. 5, 5A]
Its a real arze ache getting to these out-of-town Grounds. Great if you have four wheels - but if you rely on public transport you`re knackered.

Are they actually cancelled or just not showing as available to book as happens on occasions when services are at capacity

Cancelled. Booked mine last week and just got the notification that it was cancelled.

As @r00fie1 says, there are other buses running so I'll use them.

Apparently the station at the ground has a bit of a history of train companies not wanting to serve football fans.

There is a history with LNWR who operate the Coventry - Nuneaton Service.
Supporters and the club in the past, have campaigned for a match-day service to the Stadium Station - but LNWR said they dont have the train-sets, cant offer the level of service to move thousands of fans and the platform isnt long enough to accommodate more than three coaches ! [So much for "Public" transport!]. On matchdays services are cancelled until well after the game finishes!

They probably can't find the coaches, or more likely Drivers. Fortunately as mentioned there are service buses.

Even with a car - its £10 to park.

Boro fans are spoilt a bit with the Riverside, with quite a lot of free of cheap parking - 20 minutes away.

From the Coventry site....
Due to the ongoing industrial action in the form of action short of a strike, West Midlands Trains service on the Leamington – Nuneaton line has been served by bus for the last few weeks. This is set to continue until Sunday.

The hourly bus service will not be sufficient for fans on Saturday, and due to the scale of industrial action, West Midlands Trains will not be able to resource further rail replacement vehicles.

In the interest of safety, the hourly buses will not call at Coventry Arena station for 2 hours pre and post-match, to avoid overcrowding – the bus would only fit 60 fans on, and West Midlands Trains anticipate issues around loading.

What a palaver. I’m in tune with ArchieStephens-elbow on this one!
This Country is well and truly intercoursed.
I’ll be driving home after the match, so if anyone thinks they might get stranded, give me a shout.
I’ll be driving to Beverley, but I’ll pass near to Doncaster on the M18 on the way home, and can always drop off at Donny station.
I’m parking on someone’s driveway, for the match, but it’s not far from the ground.

How dare the train workers inconvenience football fans. 😳

Wouldn’t you think the government would step in and put a stop to this. 🤔
