Cricket 2nd Test

Even now - if Sri Lanka get a couple of quick wickets... then our tail did not do anything with the bat in the 1st innings.

Butler though seems to have changed his mentality over the last 12 months, and can play a solid test innings if needed - where he used to just come in and play it like a 20/20
 
its a good result for England, and good to see some persona battles going on. Root is some batsman.

I must admit that I find spin heavy pitches and conditions pretty boring and uninteresting. Over after over of batsman blocking the ball.

I heard Michael Holding once say (and it might not have been paraphrasing someone else) that "a good match is when there is an even contest between bat and ball" Good bowlers can compete with good batsmen.

Plus I just prefer to see fast bowlers get stick into batsmen, and batsmen smacking fast bowers back over their heads.
 
After this test the latest league table is this. India still lea NZ. For England to stand any chance of making the Lords test final in June they need to smash India.

I don't think anyone really cares about the world test championship, seems more to do with lovers of algorithms than lovers of cricket. Until it can be simplified and properly built into the calendar it may as well be put on the back burner.

Well as an English supporter you would say that. Possibly may be postponed but I am sure they can play it. Kiwis are very keen. In fact so keen we have picked a two test series against England in June just announced yesterday. Lords and Edgbaston - and the Indian supporters would be mad for it.
