Current market value for Spence, Tav and Fry?

In my opinion you don't sell your young top quality players, unless forced to, because their value is rising.

Top quality young players we sold in recent past

Bamford sold for £7m now £30m? (now 28)
Traore sold for £18m now £30m? (now 25)
Gibson - sold for £15m now worth £10m? (now 28)

£40m to £70m in 3.5 years

Best time to sell a typical outfield player is when they are around 26 to maximise their value as they reach their playing peak age. (27)

I have said top quality i.e. regulars in our first team.

Of the current players mentioned possibly Spence is a not a regular , but he a regular at Forest.

absolutely agree with this. Selling fry and Tav unless someone is going to make a speculative punt that they will be england quality and pay that now, would be stupid.

If someone wants to pay 20-25mill for either of those, then fair enough. But selling for 5-10 mill isn't worth it. we've been here before selling players at that value will not improve our squad.

Keep them, improve them, grow their value and improve the weaker parts of the team.

Spence is a different kettle of fish because he is mentally not the strongest, and seemingly wants away. But even then we need to maximise sale value and get % on him as we sell. My worry is that he will rest on his laurels at Forest from now to May, then his value will drop again as will interest from other clubs willing to pay big

I've never been Fry's biggest fan, but I think that may have been down to the type of football we were playing, but he looks the best I've ever seen him under Wilder. Our defence has got stronger and been given more freedom to play with us pressing higher, the only time we look shaky is when we tire, but we're clearly getting fitter/ sustaining it for longer/ rotating it better.

I'm not knocking our previous style which now I realise didn't suit Fry either mind, as sometimes you have to play a certain way which fits your team.

I'd loan Spence out again when we get through Covid or sell him if his contract is ending, but this is contingent on keeping Dijksteel and Jones, if either of them go, then we need to keep Spence, and I reckon there will be a few looking at those two. Having Spence run his contract down as a sub won't be good business.

Well the proof of the pudding and all that - I am almost certain I will be closer than your rather ambitious targets.
It isn't a target, because I wouldn't be aiming to sell, it's simply that I don't see the point in selling unless it's for way above value. Spence is the only one whose value may drop to the levels you listed and that's because he might go to Forest in the summer not a prem side.

I just don’t see anyone paying that much for Tav for example - he’s been a weak link in what was up until recently a mid table championship team. Who’s going to pay 12 million for him - it’s a huge gamble and I think Prem teams are much more astute than that. Great if it happens but that’s got to be a 100-1 shot. I just think as always a lot of people are a bit blinkered because it’s our club and lose all objectivity. It’s just my opinion but if these players do go that will settle the debate.

You are 100% correct. Unfortunately people live in a very blinkered world.

I can't believe he has been compared with Eze really... That is a bit of a joke.

Eze was a better player that Tav when both aged 21, but then again Eze went for £17m to Palace. If Tav was 2/3rds as good his fee would be around £11.5m. As said I would not sell for £11.5m as his value will likely rise as he gets older. He has not improved this season, but I think he will. Many players form and development does not go in a straight line. Look in the past when we sold Colin Cooper cheaply to Millwall (@22 old?) and he eventually played for England.

Mmm strange methodology for assessing a players worth? I think Lewis Wing is a tenth as good a player Jack Grealish is so if Grealish went for £100m we should get about 10 million for him? The variation of opinion of Tav on here is really interesting. I look at what I see each week on the pitch. He has had one really good game this season for me. Most games he is one of the least effective performer - regularly a ( 4,5 or 6 out of 10 ) at best. After some promising performances last season had he kicked on a fee over £7m might have been possible. If clubs have been scouting him they would be crazy to shell out the circa £10m and above being quoted. We will see in the next few weeks I suppose?
