For anyone interested the Elite Men’s Cyclo-Cross World Championships from Ostende starts from 2pm.

Not a typical cyclo-cross course unfortunately with lots of riding in sand. I can’t see anyone but Van der Poel or Van Aert winning, but Tom Pidcock should be battling for the bronze despite the course not really suiting him.

A flavour of the course here from the exciting women’s race run yesterday.

 
Thanks for the heads up I have just got back from my bike ride and it's recorded for watching this evening. Looking forward to seeing how Tom gets on, will be a big season for him with his new team.
My usual road ride was a bit like cyclocross this morning with the roads full of mud and water from the fields still a bit of slush and ice around.
 
Not a great course as is often the case for the Worlds, but the first half of the race was exciting until it settled down. TV producers always concentrate too much on the runaway leaders when the battles are often going on behind. It's probably the reason I prefer the women's races.
 
They were on 3 each until today and I do wonder what would have happened if Van Aert had not punctured as he had a good lead and looked comfortable til that point.
