Desperate for a striker now

It will be interesting to see what the outcome of both injuries are from last night. I feared the worst, but pretty sure I noticed both lads back on the pitch at FT shaking hands/ applauding etc, which is hopefully a good sign.

I think if we are serious about promotion we need a striker even if these two are fit. Coburn‘s effort cannot be faulted and he is still developing but he is just not good enough at the moment for side with promotion aspirations, in my opinion. A striker is essential in this window but it is finding the right one as we won’t always get an Archer

Crooksy also went over on his ankle which didn’t look good either - going to be another patched up side on Saturday by the looks of it

Coburn was clutching his upper inside leg towards the end, and looked to be in some discomfort. If we had any other alternatives, then I don't think he would be playing very much.

Crooks looks out of form and/or carrying an injury of some kind.

Yes, we need someone else. We are close to having to play Hoppe or Kavanagh. Or Rodgers again up top, which I don't think he is his best position.

Is Forss anywhere near returning? I'm not sure why Carrick has never played him up front. He'd be first choice up front for me with a fully fit squad.

I agree...i love josh....there's always room for him.from the bench...but I do feel he just isn't quite there yet which is no slight on the lad he's developing brilliantly.
He always reminds me.of Paul Wilkinson
There were times last night where his youthful exuberance and desperation to succeed got the better of him...
He will get there and I hope its with us

Marcus Forss?

I do think when we talk about signing a striker, do we have the resources to get a better one than Forss? Excellent finisher, tremendous work rate, good technique. I'd love to see Forss playing behind a front 3 of Azaz, Rogers and McGree (or Jones).

Carrick's first 4 games or so Forss played up front, then he changed it to Crooks.

I thought he was OK as a striker, but as Stanley says above, he struggles to hold it up. He works hard though, can press and his movement off the ball is good. Plus probably the best finisher at the club.

If fit, we could do worse, but whoever plays "10" would need to do a good job of retaining possession (like Chuba did).

As mentioned above we really need 3 options for that central berth. Coburn, ELL plus one other.

Expect that will be the next player through the door now we've got RB sorted.

Banguras looked more an impact injury, knee into upper thigh. Like an old school dead leg. Lathes looked worse, from the grimaces on Crooks and Coburns face I expect they will both need some recovery time.
