Did we employ a Marouane Fellaini upfront tactic with Crooks yesterday?

Yep pleased to see him give Forss a run of games (particularly if Watmore is unavailable). Brentford fans rave about his finishing and I think someone put his stats up a while back which suggested the same: scores more chances than xG suggests he should.

The problem is of course does he contribute enough aside from that so that he's not a passenger? If he can sort that out, and there are promising signs, albeit early days, then there's every chance he'll score a lot of goals and should help improve our issue of missing too many easy chances.

That's the theory anyway!
Yeah and someone like him who’s game is about being on the shoulder and trying to make runs in behind opens up the space for Akpom between the lines and he is thriving. Sometimes it’s little details like that keep a player like Forss in the team. Especially with Akpom scoring and being a massive threat

Getting ahead of myself but wouldn't it be nice to have an established, effective strike partnership again.

Britt and Fletcher had a little run that looked promising briefly under Woody, but the last proper good one was probably Vossen and Bamford?

Yeah you would say Vossen and Bamford was the last really good partnership. Hopefully we have found an unexpected partnership in Akpom and Forss. I fancy Coburn to play a big part next season too. Maybe January who knows
