I may be wrong here but wasn’t he once during a game , in that TV gantry suspended from the Holgate roof ?
I seem to remember him being spotted and crucified by a full Holgate

I'm trying to find the name of the tyne tees sports presenter, who Is And he hates the boro. I seen him at Wembley years ago, and as I was talking to John hendrie. He walked past saying to some bloke he was with. "I'll laugh my t i ts off when Middlesbrough get beat. Hendrie didn't say anything, I just called him a pr*ck

What about effing GEORGE HOUSE? I remember him in the 1970s hosting a ten minute Saturday early evening football programme just after the news giving brief reports on all the five NE clubs’ games. His huge bias for Newcastle United was embarrassing. If they lost he could barely get his report out through his gritted teeth. He hated Boro and once in a charity programme, when someone had pledged about fifty quid if he would do it, refused point blank to admit that Boro were the best team in the North East, this was during the Charlton or the John Neal years when we were riding high and the skunks were struggling.

The one suspended under the Holgate was a camera position. The commentator sat in the box above the South Stand which must have been bloody freezing in the winter.

I know but I deffo remember the derision towards Tames by the fans aimed at the gantry . Pondering it now , I’m suspecting it was done as the fans knew he’d hear it via the cameras ( we’d obviously wrapped the game up score wise ).

Absolutely agree with that . Even though they harp on about they’re not bothered about us as we supposedly seek derbies with them , they actually despise us !

btw I couldn’t give two tosses about not having an ‘ enemy ‘ . I’m comfortable in our own little world and don’t need another club acrimony to make me feel a love for my own club .

They and the barcodes would love the nation to acknowledge their fixture as a ‘massive ‘ derby , when in fact the whole nation couldn’t give a hoot about them .
