Did you ever build a Tracker?

In the 60s all my mates in Park End would knock them up from old bikes we found and blagged. Spent many happy hours in Pennyman Woods or the 'bomb holes' up Flatts Lane.

I still put my own bikes together even now. This is the one I built last year from an old Hetchins frame for a very upright position (arthritis in the neck) and using friction gear-levers on the bars just for fun.

My bogie was the streets bogie, if I wasn’t coming out to play the kids used to ask if the bogie could…
every kid on the street ride it down the hill… my dad was a genius building it…
land the big iron sledge we used to take down the big hill, everyon got out the way when we were going down on that….

I built my own bike with bits from portrack incinerator tip when you used to be able to go skip dipping for parts…
bi cow horns, single gear, painted matt black with gold joints fading out… was mean as hell….

man they were deadly if you borrowed your mates fix wheeler, you would keep on forgetting to pedal and be nearly fcked of the bike everytime used to hate them lol would regularly have only one break that only half worked at best on the Tracker!
I broke my leg so it was in a plaster for weeks. I put a fixed wheel on my bike so I could pedal with one foot with the plastered leg stuck out to the side.
