yes a lunatic but we’ve had much worse ‘finished’ players
a short term contract would of been worth a pop .
the £20k a week wage offer might of been a stumbling block I guess 🤣
 
Just what we need to provide the finishing touches to a harmonious changing room, he’d help instil a bit of added discipline and focus and keep bully boy crooks in order on the pitch. He is Captain material too, his selfless approach to the game, his nurturing of teammates and composure in difficult situations means he is guaranteed to wear the armband with pride.

I mean really, what could possibly be negative about such a signing.
 
maybe The probable 20 goals he’d score in the championship before may , guarantee a top 6 finish, and be favourites to finish 2nd .

He hasn't scored 20 goals in a season for 5 years, the chance of him getting 20 for us in 2.5 months is nil.

He has only actually played 20 league games in a season once in the last 5 years. His record of 1 in 5, at Altetico Madrid, over 4 seasons, in the Spanish league, is poor.

For a team who rely on high energy forwards, a 33 year old has been, who was never high energy anyway, probably isn't a great call.

Doesn't exactly fit the mantra of low wages, good probability of future transfer fee return either.

We've had a lot of years of buying older players, passed their best on big contracts/ wages, and getting nothing back on transfer fees, we don't need to start digging that hole again.

Yup, and I just explained why it deserves to go in the bin :LOL:

I couldn't actually think of anything right about it, or how this could be a good signing in any way, and I did try and think of one.
