These Dimi mistakes you speak of, maybe it's selective memory, but personally i recall him being a proper legend & winning us many games singlehandedly!
There was one game in particular that was like Schwarzer away to Port Vale!🥰
 
Personally thought Valdes was an excellent keeper for us after a bit of a rough start - obviously he then did one and was potentially disruptive off the pitch. Head and shoulders above Dimi and Guzan. However, Dimi should've been second choice and at least given 1 game in the Premier League - Guzan was absolutely woeful - still remember our fans chanting for him to be sent off against Southampton :ROFLMAO:

Does anyone know if there was anything in Dimi's contract that triggered if he played one game? as it didn't make sense for him not to play.

Dimi was excellent for us in the Championship and an absolute bargain for the role we initially signed him for - but he was starting to concede poorer goals towards the end of the promotion season.
 
A semi-retired Man Utd reserve. His positioning for Stoke’s equaliser on the opening day was poor and it didn’t get much better. His games against Arsenal and City away were decent, but not amazing.

Let’s be honest, none of the three keepers that season were good enough for the Premier League.

6 players did well for us, 7 players cut it in the premier league for us and we had 11 players not suited to the premier league.

Try a season in the premier league with a squad of 13 players.. 7 of which you can use for 1/4 of the season. Chances are you will drop points.

How many defender did we have that were premier league quality? Ben Gibson.. Barragan/Chambers missing for 10/12 games.. Fabio/Friend missing for 12 games. Valdes walked away for 1/4 of the season.

Out midfield was good.. no back up tho.

Any of this sound familiar.. a golden thread.. something in our DNA?
