Hello Friends,
Time seems to fly by in between the delivery of Local History Month in May and the Discover Middlesbrough festival launching in October each year.
Some of the things I’m looking forward to personally in this years program include, The 10 year Memories of Middlesbrough anniversary exhibition which will be available to see in the Hill Street Centre Hub on Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays.
The Hub is a new space that will host lots of great activities and events in the next few months so please pop in and see them.
We have a Boro theme at the start of the festival with three events linked to the football club. Sat 15th at Base Camp we have the Boro Shirt Museum: Resurrection and a Talk about George Camsell delivered by Tosh Warwick followed by an event delivered by the Middlesbrough Supporters Forum on Saturday 16th Recording Boro Brick Road.
Continuing the football theme Martin Peagam will deliver a talk on Women’s Football in the Hillstreet Shopping Centre hub on Thursday 20th. Martin has several talks in the program this year – I recommend them all.
The Town Hall tours and The Teesside Archives open day are returning and providing another chance to see behind the closed doors of the service, alongside program from regular contributors at the Linthorpe Cemetery and Mima to name just a few.
I’ll leave you now to have look through all the wonderful program and look forward to hearing feedback.
See you all out there.
