The whole bible thumping thing has me most confused. God, guns and Trump wasn't it?

Quite a few people lapping up this “witch hunt” theory already. I don’t know enough about US law to understand the severity / previous cases of a similar nature which have ended up with indictments.

It feels like it’s very much being played down in certain elements of the media.

I genuinely don’t get the fascination amongst some people in this country with Trump. Mainly white blokes aged 40+ (no offence to anyone in that category who don’t share the same views). I know some who “love him”. Despite him having little impact on their lives and watching on from the other side of the pond.

I’ve had a few conversations with people who believe he’s brilliant. I can only imagine it’s because he shares similar views. Climate change is a hoax, he’s an old school misogynist and is thick AF.

The common one I hear - “Russia wouldn’t have invaded with Trump in charge”.

What planet are they living on? Too many YouTube videos whilst locked away in Lockdown? I just don’t get it!

Completely agree and the Russia one is hilarious, Trump only got into power due th the Russians in the first place. He’d of been trying to supply Russia rather than help the Ukrainians. It wasn’t that long ago he was looking at pulling the US out of NATO, I wonder who suggested that to him 🤔

In America in particular, most prevalent amongst the happy clappy evangelical lot, it seems "talking the talk" carries much more weight than your actions or character.

As long as you go around banging on about God every five minutes and promise to try and align laws to daft stuff scribbled down by some bloke from a completely different country and culture thousands of years ago, they won't care how morally bankrupt you are or what "sins" you commit. They'll love you for it.

It's absolutely mental and as you say, makes no sense. It's like they don't understand their own religion. Trump pretty much goes against everything that Jesus fella talks about.
