Dosa Houze, South Indian Restaurant

Anyone remember this place a few years back, they moved to the Yorkshire bank on Linthorpe Road.. then just disappeared? There was talk of another restaurant opening up in Stockton too.
Hands down the best place on Teesside for food.

What on earth happened? Did they move darn sarf for the big bucks or did they go the way of Dimi’s restaurant?

Yeah it was really good. They expanded quite quickly into the former Yorkshire Bank building but also opened a Stockton outlet also.
Perhaps it was all too ambitious. Am not sure. But the landlords of some of those places at that end of Linthorpe Road can be really cut-throat as well.
The woman in charge was great, wasn't she. And her food was unique to these parts.

If I recall there was sudden notice put up saying the property was being reclaimed by landlord so guessing stopped paying rent

Oh I love a good dosa - masala dosa, mushroom mysore dosa, YUM. I'm hungry now...

I went past Dimi's place the other day, and theres still glasses on the tables. I'm guessing it was cheaper to have it there but it was in the wrong part of town.

Great restaurant, expanded too quickly. The Stockton restaurant was the killer. Format was all wrong, all you can eat for £xx. Not good when you are not that hungry. Might have worked had the Globe opened as planned, as it was opposite. But it's still not open !! The cheap Italian restaurant now occupying the building will make a killing once it is opened.
