Went to the cinema to watch it on Saturday and was blown away.

Obviously received a lot of hype and attention so was semi wary of getting my hopes up too high before watching it but it truly lived up to everything I was expecting.

Currently sitting very pretty at a 9.0 on IMDB and surely has to be absolutely nailed on for a boat load of awards.

iMax Nottingham - blown away. It’s just glorious.

Im a Nottingham boy living in Derby temporarily because my house flooded in October.

Made the mistake of going to watch it at the Derby Showcase instead of the Nottingham one and its nowhere near as good.

Gives me a good reason/excuse to go and watch it a second time at the Nottingham iMax instead.

Do I need to have seen part 1 to see part 2?

Genuine question as I have no idea what it is but one of my mates said he’d been and I should take it in because it was sensational.

Yeah, you absolutely need to see Part 1 to see Part 2.

It's pretty much a direct follow on from Part 1 and without seeing that you'd have no idea whats going on or who's who.

I think Part One is available on Netflix if you have a subscription. We had to rewatch it before watching Part Two because we its very lore heavy with different families and factions etc.

I struggled with part 1 and gave up.
Maybe something I need to revisit?
I'd say so.

In part one at the start it almost felt like we had missed something because it jumps straight into all these names and prophecies etc and we had no idea who was who.

But we stuck with it and ended up absolutely loving it. Even my wife who isnt usually into these kinds of movies couldnt wait to see part two.

She stopped me short of buying one of the popcorn buckets though.....

I'm definitely going to try and see it on Imax. I saw the first one when it came on Sky, enjoyed it and immediately thought that I wish I'd been to see it on a big screen.

Really want to see this. Enjoyed Dune 1 immensely. Trouble with watching at the flix is that I cant stop and rewind when i need to catch up, missed or just dont get a part. Will risk it anyway as I have heard its superb.

It is quite long, not unnecessarily though, as it is all plot, rather than filler. I did find myself concentrating on my waterworks, rather than the film by the end though :ROFLMAO:

Thought it was very good though and having an unlimited card allowed me to go back and watch it a second time today, which did help clear up a few points.

Going to see it tomorrow. I've read the first 5 Dune books so excited to see it. When I watched the first one I wasn't overly impressed with Timothy Chalamet, Kyle MacLachlan will always be Paul Atreides to me.

Iv'e been putting off watching Dune 1 because I didn't think the wife would like it, might have to rethink that.

My daughter went to see part 2 and loved it. Went with a friend who hadn’t seen part 1 and she said she could follow the plot and enjoyed it too.

So not totally necessary to have seen part 1.

Just watched part 1 again. Think I enjoyed more second time around than first. If I remember rightly the volume was crap at the cinema. My hearing is poor but even my son who can hear a pin drop struggled with some of it.

Looking forward to part 2 now.

Is it really that good? Might have to check it out.

I avoided the first one because I found Arrival boring and Blade Runner was at least an hour too long, I just hate how that director paces films.... Then I saw the length of Dune and thought jesus, that's going to be 2 hours of looking at sand moving around very slowly with a 1.5 hour movie spread around it.
