Dunkirk is an industrial town producing steel, chemicals, refined oil, and used to build ships. Probably explains the link.

Actually if the country learned from WW2 as the rest of Europe has, we would be in a far better place... Agreed about the jingoistic nonsense though.

If we hadn’t had the two world wars I’m sure the whole world would be a far better place. But who knows politicians just do the most stupidest things and rarely have the interests of voters in hand after they’ve been elected.

I think the Kaiser and his warmongering cohorts had a lot to do with it. Not forgetting the peace loving British P.M who came back with a piece of paper hoping to avoid the inevitable. However we have a lot to be ashamed of before those two WW's.
