Earthquake hits Hawaii's Big Island

Hawaii is a hot spot - not really close to any major fault lines. Hot spots are basically holes in the plates that allow the magma to force it's way up & over time , form land.
Other ones include the Canary Islands, Iceland ( which is on a fault line too ) & , I think , Yellowstone in the USA ( there are others of course ) .
I am actually going to Big Island this Friday - Amazing place & of course where Capt Cook was killed. The first time that I went I stood on the spot where they think that it occurred. There is still a town called Capt Cook close-by .
Many of the natives are still very resentful of the forced colonisation of the Islands by the USA , who brought over Japanese labour to grow sugar. I think someone called Dole ( who still make canned fruit & sugar in the USA ) was the main player,.
One can visit an old sugar factory & conditions for the workers were indeed very grim.
Maybe next week I will offer-up a parmo to the spirit of the good Captain in the hope that it helps the Boro play a little better .
