Obviously I aren't massive on tech etc .. I just use what I get given ha ha

Moving place, and the ball-ache of waiting for someone to come out and install your phoneline/broadband at new address is going to take a lot longer than usually did, I have noticed ... checking booking dates online are weeks away etc

Anyway back to my post .. was wondering, has anyone used one of these little EE temp modem things before?? I found one like the one in the image i posted that i had a few year ago, i wondered if they would still work, as in take EE credit toppings for internet access/allowance ... I just can't remember how you got the data to use the damn thing

Anyone with any knowledge on these things on best ones to use for someone in my situation, advice appreciated

Thanks and UTB

They work ok, essentially a SIM card. Depends what you want to use the internet for, if you have good mobile signal and enough mobile data you can just tether to your phone usually. If you really need a 4g/5g modem then it'll do a job for you, not great for gaming etc but for Netflix and browsing will be fine

Is it payg? I think they're often on a contract

This suggests it's a payg top up, try putting the sim in your phone?

Been watching youtube vids but cant remember if there was software with it i loaded it onto a previous laptop that I do not have now

It'll probably broadcast a WiFi when plugged in? Connect to that and will probably have options to top up

Yeah, that's what I thought. Cheers for responses guys ... I just thought because it's so long since I last used it I wouldn't be able to get it to work as it was around 5 or 6 years back, but perfectly handy to use while waiting for the installment of a proper phone line/broadband ... the waiting time seems even longer right now which is an absolute ball-ache ... it's taken Virgin Media this time, two days to find me someone available to come and install it ... looking at three or four weeks wait according to the lady who spoke to me earlier ... Christ??! some surge in demand on the offer I got maybe ...

Anyway, I'll have a crack with the mini modem thing and see if it still works.., I will connect it to my laptop see what happens, I may be able to access my account to top it up with my phone and buy a data package that should do the job until I finally get a fkin telephone engineer who's available around to install my phone line! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I use one of these when I go over to France and have it set up on a 30 day top-up card. We are usually away for 6 weeks and have to top up it up again part way through the holiday.

It is mainly used for online banking but I have been able to watch the Boro games and the Rugby with no problem.
