Posh appear to have turned the corner, after a run of poor results at the start of February. Having been comfortably placed in the play-off spots, they lost in the league to Wigan [2-3], Exeter [1-2], Wycombe [2-5] and Blackpool [1-2]. Just when it seemed the whole season was inexplicably falling apart, they took on Cambridge United [literally] and came away with a 1-0 victory on the last Saturday of February. For those who might not be aware, Posh fans love Cambridge like contracting a sexually transmitted disease, or as much as Boro love the deckchairs.

[Gary Monk saw his Cambridge side thrashed 6-0 by Lincoln City!]

At the time of Posh’s latest victory at the Abbey Stadium, Cambridge were Managerless, but it appears the appointment of Gary Monk didn't prevent them from getting six hammered past them last night by Lincoln City! Cambridge now sit one place above the bottom four, five points on Cheltenham Town, who have a game in hand.

[Darren Ferguson expects tonight to be a tough game]

Peterborough continued by taking three points off Exeter [return fixture: 2-1], Northampton Town [5-1] and Burton Albion [3-1] just last weekend. Posh Manager Darren Ferguson has marshalled the team since January and made important changes. It's his fourth spell in charge at London Road; the first time being way back in 2007! He knows how to get a tune out of the boys in blue.

[Posh drew 2-2 at the Lamex in the return fixture].

Tonight, their opponents are Steve Evan's, Stevenage Town, just one place below them in sixth place, but a seven point difference between the two. A win for Posh will see them leap-frog Barnsley, who have been at the top end of the table all season, but their recent three game unbeaten run came to an abrupt end: 2-2 against top-half team Bolton was followed by a 5-1 thrashing by Lincoln City, although they beat Carlisle 3-2 on their most recent outing. Posh have a tough home game this coming Saturday - at home to League leaders Portsmouth, so a win tonight is really important.

[Steve Evans has an inimitable style and knows how to motivate players and get results]

Stevenage has seen a renaissance under Steve Evans, who has taken the former failing Hertfordshire side from the fourth tier at the end of last season up to the top six of EFL League 1. The last three games have included two 0–0 draws against Lincoln and Fleetwood and a victory at home to Cambridge United. Steve Evans team have kept seventeen [17!] clean sheets this season, and he sets them up to play on the counter-attack. It's certainly worked out for "The Boro", who have also seen their average home gate clime to almost 4,400. Big gates over 5000 have included Portsmouth, Oxford United and the Posh. It seems the Boro don't like Cambridge United much either - beating them 1-0 at the end of February, in front of 6500 fans in a packed Lamex Stadium.

[Stevenage were beaten 2-1 down at Portsmouth on 1st January]

So, tonight promises to be an electric atmosphere with plenty of sparks flying! Both sets of fans will be up for it and in full voice. There are a few added ingredients to the match: Steve Evans was formerly Manager of the Posh with former Posh "stars" Nathan Thompson, Dan Butler and Ben Thompson now wearing the red and white shirt of Stevenage!

[Dan Butler and Nathan Thompson were both in the Posh promotion side of 2021].

After beating Cambridge or should I say Scumbridge 1-0 they played Northampton and thumped them 5-1 at home, which is like the Geordies and the Mackems.
Big game tonight, hopefully they can keep it going and Nick second spot

"Cape United" is a massive Posh fan, who does his own vlog's and always captures the highs and lows of fans emotions.
Always worth a watch.

This is what happened when Posh stuffed the Cobblers 5-1!

ps.
He's the same guy who claims our fans are the best he'd seen at Home in their last Championship season.(y)

It's a football forum. We talk about all things football. Good connection you made there (y)
So you do this for every match then? I just wondered why this particular one was chosen for the special attention.
Thanks for the sarcastic reply btw. Not really necessary.

I like the barge moored by London Road Bridge - called "Charters".
It serves excellent ale and is great to sit outside on a warm day, before heading to see Boro beat the Posh.
Hope they make it back up.

So you do match previews for teams near pubs that you like.
Why didn't you just say that?
