Elite mentality

I don’t understand the mentality we start games with. There seems to be a lack of motivation at the start of games to be dominant and take the match to the opposition.

As much as I love the football we have played under Carrick, for me he is not demanding enough from the players.

We do seem to spend the majority of the match retaining the ball and gently passing it about with pedestrian forays forward as though we're sitting on a comfortable 3-0 lead, then it seems that when injury time is announced reality kicks in.
