England v South Africa

Last week there was plenty on here saying England don't get you out of your seat and that they are boring to watch. Well, today England made you all eat your words and put in a great performance to beat South Africa 27 - 26.

Yes, they gave a lot of silly penalties away but England did well against a very physical side that threw everything at them. Steward was brilliant again and young Smith did well with his kicking, especially to hold his nerve at the end to kick to put England back in front.

Well done.

I was at the game. Fantastic game of rugby and England needed all their reserves to keep SA at bay who were mullering us in the forwards.

Apart from Boks missing two kickable penalties and nissing an overlap for a try Englnd deserved their luck I thought with their more adventurous approach. That said England were outmuscled in the forwards particularly second half. They will need to strengthen that part of their game.

Everyone gets outmuscled by the springboks! I would say we were the second toughest tight five in the world. Some really good early scrums too

SA completely dominated the 2nd half. The penalty count tells the story.
Trashed us in the scrum, they ruled the ground work and our line-out was poor.
Thought Youngs and Sinclair both below par.
Exciting times though with an evolving team and great potential.

Again, you only seem to have seen the second half!

The penalty count against England was ridiculous. It showed how much pressure Boks were putting on England both in the scrimmage and the mauls.

When the Irish ref gave the penalty at the end 80,000 collectively breathed again. It was a wonderful atmosphere and Boks fans played their part.

I certainly thought it was lost when England messed up the lineouts near the end.

Ireland will be favourites for the six nations and rightly so.
England would need to be at their best to beat them but at least we play them at home
France again unpredictable who knows how they'll turn up.

Looking forward to the AB game at 8.... that'll tell us a bit about where they are for the 6 nations.
