Enjoying practicing skills you learned some time ago

Some time ago my wife and I were partners in a golf shop. With two close friends of ours. One of the skills my friend Alan taught me was regripping clubs.

I do not use the skill that often now. Just for my clubs, my wife's and those of a few close friends.

When I was helping out in the shop it was a chore. Now it is a pleasure.

Today I am regripping 9 clubs for a friend of ours. I am really enjoying it. Particularly as my outdoor workshop (the terrace) is lovely this morning.

Just stopped for a cuppa break. To celebrate two wins last night.

I am a happy bunny at the moment.

If it was me they would just stay as lumps of wood. My dad was a carpenter/joiner. I did not inherit any of his skills. I even failed CSE woodwork.

I taught myself how to juggle when I was about 12.
50+ yrs later I still occasionally juggle some of my granddaughters toys .
It makes her laugh out loud which is the most magical thing.

The alignment has been checked by the Quality Control Manager who seems to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in our apartment.

The driver looks a bit strange as it is standing up at a funny angle.

Shame you're so far away, you could have sorted my lobber. There's a split in it which extends quite a long way up the shaft.

I did do a bit of shaft replacement in my time. However that was under the supervision of Alan. Sadly he is no longer with us.

Updated: Re-reading that it sounds like it might have been a line in a Carry On film.

As you like that one here is the view from sitting down on the other half of the terrace. The top of the yachts in the marina are more noticeable from this angle.
