Erik Ten Hag

Weirdly he was 5/4 in the 'sack race' pre and post match last night (and still this morning).

I quite fancied watching the match but was missus' birthday and I kind of forgot about it. Sounds like it was a good un.

Long may their decline continue.

Very little sympathy from me. The outrage and entitlement from their fans is comic. They are a mess from top to bottom. The Glazers are doing a fantastic job at reducing the biggest club in the UK (unarguably one of the biggest on the planet) to a shambles. Overpaid, undermotivated players. Under investment in facilities. Shambolic and erratic recruitment. Ineffective management. Aging stadium...

It's all very upsetting :ROFLMAO: 🙏

Usually when a team like Man Utd are doing so terribly you would assume that a new manager would change things around and will be able to get more from their players. If you spend £1bn on your team and it's not performing then you would think a better manager would be doing better. However, I think they are in about the right position for the squad they have. Yes, they have spent a lot of money but they've spent it extremely poorly. They have a very poor but very expensive squad. They have a squad of super expensive flops that they know aren't good enough but they can't get rid of because nobody will pay the wages/fees they would want. They started with a back 4 of Dalot, Maguire, Evans and Lindelof against City last week. No manager is going to get them in a position to challenge for the league and they are going to be stuck with their expensive dross for several seasons. The more big contracts they hand out to mediocre players the worse it is going to get. They need to change their strategy.

Man Utd are just doing a Liverpool post 1990. All great eras come to an end at some point as football is cyclical.
Liverpool won the CL 15 years after Kenny left. I can't see United winning it by 2028!

They also did a trophy treble in 2001, so that would be this season for United. Whereas I reckon they'll win feck all, again.

By contrast, I do think they'll win the PL before 2043.

ETH could make United instantly better by bringing Sancho and De Gea back

He seems like he has an ego or stubbornness

I don’t as stunned to see that keeper cost nearly £50m to replace devGea with worse. How much was Dieng again?

Also with Fernandes captain, good player but don’t want him when things are going against you, gives up and no spine … need to dig deep and he is not the man to start the digging…

Would likely snap the spade

In my opinion they should appoint a good young manager that plays decent football, let’s say Potter for example, and be open and honest with the fans that they have a 5 year plan to get back on track with 10 year plan to get back to the top.

Spend 2 years getting rid of the dead wood, whilst saving a fortune in transfer fees and recuperating some money from the deadwood. A year of getting rid of dead wood and signing couple decent kids. 2 further years and of signing hot prospects. That’s the first 5 years done.

Then have another go, using the squad of young players they’ve assembled.

Will mean they will have some mid table / bottom half finishes but might just put them back on track.

At the minute they will just tread water, going between 5th / 6th / 7th and a few years qualifying for the champions league in which they won’t do anything once in it.

Only Rashford knows if he meant to stamp on an opponent’s ankle. I can’t fathom how so many people are saying he didn’t mean to do what he did. But it’s irrelevant anyway because intent doesn’t come into it. It was endangering an opponent and he was rightly sent off. It’s as blatant a red as you’ll see all season.

As for Manchester United in a wider sense, it’s an absolute car-crash. I love it. Long may it continue. I hope they go down and then go down again. And then again.
