We had the burst of signings, little to no speculation before then but suddenly, links all around and all business swiftly done.

Currently, next to no one linked other than the loan guys from last year, and mainly only from expectant fans.

I feel like we need a boost to feel happier heading in to the season. Be that a contract extension or what appears to be a concrete link.
 
Absolutely nothing in the Gazette apart from that left back which they've been spinning out the whole week. It's odd considering we're only 10 days from the start of the season.
 
We have 4 options for loans, I think clubs that have players available for loans are waiting to bring in players so they can let them go.

maximum of eight first team loaned out, and maximum of eight loaned in
no more than four loaned in from any one club, no more than two can be over the age of 23
no more than five can appear on a team sheet for an individual match.

Changed hasn't it? 4 loans and they can't be from the same team, and Premier league clubs can't loan players to other Premier league clubs if they sign the player in the same window.
 
I'm quietly confident that we'll be feeling a tad more bullish about our prospects at the close of business.

Just hoping for a semi-positive start to the season while waiting on the expected reinforcements who will command a berth in the starting eleven.
 
We saw earlier in the window that doing business without press speculation is still possible, so I don't feel too dejected about the lack of 'rumours', in fact, I much prefer it.
 
Loans for top quality young players, won't happen until the final days/hours of the transfer market, when the respected clubs decide to allow them to leave.
There will be a lot of negotiations, going on in the background, with every club, regarding new incomings and outgoings in the Championship.
Yes, it's quiet, (same for most clubs), but I would rather us pull off a shock transfer, than announce who we are after, only for other clubs to step in.
We will have a plan, we are an attractive proposition for both young talent and seasoned pros. we will have a strong Championship team to compete and push for promotion.
 
This is doing my head in. The same happened last year. We are at the mercy of the Prem clubs who only release players for loans once they're finished their transfer business. The loan window closes September by which time we might have played over 10 games.
So, yet again, we are going to start the season with a far from complete squad.
Easy fix - if the League want to be stupid and keep starting the season 'early' then they should close the transfer windows before the season starts - loans or otherwise.
 
I Will start a couple of rumours just to liven things up a bit.
Rumour 1- we have a bid in for a young(ish) premier league striker, but we need to sell a player first.
Rumour 2- we have had a bid accepted for an attacking left back, but again waiting to sell the above mentioned player.
Rumour 3- we are hoping to get a young right wing back on loan.
Rumour 4- we are actively trying to offload 2 senior players with the possibility of a 3rd senior player leaving if the right offer comes in.

This doesn't go far enough imo, but ought to lead to less inflated transfer fees.
