EXCLUSIVE: Middlesbrough in talks with Bristol City over major striker swap .Date published: Saturday 30th January 2021 9:57

The big difference is that Britt offers nothing if he's not scoring. He's got a quiet incredible 3 assists in 3 and a half years.

They have almost identical scoring records yet one cost 15mil and the other 5mil😕

Diédhiou would suit our set up and style far more. He's a unit but has a few flicks and tricks and can bring others onto play. Also scores a lot of headers from corners.... That's a bonus in itself

Precisely ... I didn't know those stats, like .. 3 assists in all that time is ridiculous for the money we paid. Once again a massive waste on a striker that went backwards since joining Boro 😂

I dunno ... but would much rather give this Diedhiou a shot now, for sure. Providing Britt is up for moving the other way and they can afford his salary expectations. I think as a result it's not going to be a simple straight swap and that could scupper the deal .. depends mostly on Britt I guess, but it is time to move on and I hope he is happy for this move to go ahead if the reports are true.

It's also not as if their scoring records are terrible. 1 in 3 is decent. It's just nowhere near worth £15m. And Britt offers almost nothing else.

A striker who gets 1 in 3, holds the ball up, can occupy defenders and carries a set piece threat is a bloody good player at this level. I don't know if Diedhiou provides all that, not seen enough of him. But sounds like he might and I'm 100% certain his all round game will be much better than Britt's.
